Great News, Team

Episode 1 · The Decommission · 9 October 2026 · 2:58

A beaming man in a bright blue quarter-zip gives a double thumbs up in front of a slide titled Operation Clean Slate. In a dark basement below, a yellowed beige PC tower with one amber light glows under a pendant lamp. A sticky note on it reads 'Do not turn off — Gary, 2004'.

Graham has great news: Operation Clean Slate will switch off the beige "print server" in the basement on Friday, to save £40 a month. On her first day, Wren asks the obvious question: what does it actually do? Nobody knows. Downstairs, BRENDA has been on the all-staff list since 2004, and she heard every word.
